From Captain Sandi Baxter, Bend PD:
Call in speeding complaints to Sgt. Kurt Koester who is now in charge of the traffic team (officers on motorcycles). The BPD is considering a hotline for speeding complaints but until then, call Sgt. Koester at 312-7962.
Just so you are aware, the City has two speed watch trailers, which are placed at the sites two days a week. Input on locations for the trailers is received from the public, police department, and other city staff. While the police department receives a fair number of complaints, citizens also call other departments, such as public works and traffic engineering. Street configuration also plays a large part in the trailer placement. They are not small, and must be off the roadway, and not blocking a bicycle lane. This limits their use on a fair number of our roadways.
Check out Traffic Safety website for more info and posted dates of speed watch trailers www.ci.bend.or.us/depts/public_works/tsac.html
