Get Involved In Your Neighborhood!
A message from Annie Goldner:
Dear RWNA members,
It’s important that you know that I appreciate the support you have given to me and our association’s Executive Board during my two terms as RWNA Chair. You have bestowed me with gifts of neighborly cooperation, understanding, patience and appreciation. I know you will continue in this spirit while working with the next Association Chair.
I will continue on the board for another year to train and support our newly elected Chair.
RWNA’s election ballots will be mailed to members the 2nd week in June. The length of term for officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) is two years and elections are held every other year. Our last election was June, 2006. The new officers begin their terms July 1st, 2008.
There must be a new Chair Officer elected because the RWNA bylaws limit the Chair term to two consecutive 2-year terms. I have acted as Chair from 7-1-04 to 7-1-08.
I am asking you to consider running for any of the officer positions on the River West Neighborhood Association Executive Board. It is imperative to fill the Chair position. We are proud of the momentum that our executive board has created through an impressive level of cooperation with each other and by the individual commitments and diligence that each member has devoted to association responsibilities. Our accomplishments are not always transparent, but I assure you there are changes for the better that have impacted your neighborhood, accomplishments that are directly attributable to the board’s work.
If I could I would yell this from our west side house tops, “The RWNA Board is the best organization of cooperative, heartfelt, and committed volunteers that I have ever had the pleasure to work with…..EVER”. Please consider running for an officer’s position.
As an elected RWNA board member and particularly if you are the Chair, you will gain more volunteer satisfaction and knowledge about our community than in ANY OTHER community involvement that you may choose. That’s a promise!
If you…
- would like to speak with a member of our board
- are interested (strongly or mildly) in participating on the executive board
- know of anyone interested in being placed on the RWNA officer election ballot
Then…EMAIL the RWNA Executive Board at rwna@bendbroadband.com
