Dear CWNA Member:

In September, 2011, the CWNA board emailed 372 surveys to members of the Century West Neighborhood Association. A total of 60 (16.6%) surveys were returned. (We are told a 17% response is good when compared to responses to surveys conducted by Bend Parks and Rec and with local election turnout.) Thank you for sharing your opinions with the Board and through this mailing with all CWNA members.

We have attached the results of the survey responses and the survey comments; please click on both above. The CWNA Board discussed these survey results at its December 2011 Board Meeting. A less detailed summary of the survey results also follows below. We will continue focusing our attention and volunteer efforts on the following west side neighborhood issues:

Street Repair & Maintenance

Land Use & Development-Growth & Density

Public Investment in Roads, Crosswalks and Sidewalks

Traffic Enforcement (Speed, Signage, Marking)

Respondents indicated that the board’s strengths are communicating with members and providing opportunities for members to involve themselves in neighborhood issues. The Board will continue to invite members who can help us create and preserve the quality of our neighborhood.  The board also pledges to find more ways to be inclusive with membership, to receive member feedback and share news with our neighbors.

Thanks for your survey responses! They generally reflect what each member listed as their most important issues when joining CWNA. They make us confident that we speak for all when we promote the quality of living in the Century West neighborhood and devote volunteer time and effort to strive for improvement. There is strength and effectiveness in numbers. Please help us to grow the CWNA membership and empower our community involvement.

If you have any questions, comments, ideas, or requests, please contact your CWNA Board. CWNA is always looking to fill board positions, to appoint board coordinators and fill committee positions. Turnover is healthy and inevitable but we need new ideas, energy and new blood. If you would like to be involved with CWNA in some capacity, please let us know. The following HOA's are not currently represented in some capacity: First on the Hill, West Ridge, Sagewood, Mt. Bachelor Village, Cascade Village, Westbrook Meadows. We also need representation from the commercial entities. Please step up and help us make the Westside a better place to live.

Our sincere thanks for your help,

Your Century West Neighborhood Association Board
