MONTHLY BOARD MEETING; WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2007, 7:00 pm

MEETING MINUTES

Board Members present: Robert Tyler, Bill Friday, Rod Cathcart, Mike Lovely.
Board Members absent:  June Haines, Joe Barry.
Committee members present: Kevin Desrosiers, Webmaster.
Guests present:  None.

1. Robert Tyler, Brookswood Plaza LLC; Developer purchased 25’ greenbelt buffer along Brookswood from original developer for One Dollar. Buffer was supposed to belong to HOA. Will research. City still not allowing a right turn lane off Brookswood. City has approve dproject in spite of fire/safety concerns in a confined area.
2. Mike, Renaissance at the Rivers Rim, has talked to Tom Blust, Director of Deschutes County Public Works, will, talk to Aaron Henson and Planning Dept., and Randy Sebastian, RE; an Inter-governmental Agreement to use Buck Canyon Road as a second ingress/egress to Renaissance.
3. Discuss Alternative E  (city’s favored version) with modifications, on the Murphy Road Corridor Study. We and two other NA’s support 60’ R/W with smaller roundabouts. Our board feels that condemning property to accommodate roundabouts is the proper way to go. Do project right the first time. A large portion on the west end would be Ri/Ro only, with storm swales. DO consider noise and air pollution in this process. Public Meeting will be held on 10/11/07 at the Bend Golf and Country Club, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. This may be our last chance for input.
4. Discuss Fall 2007 General Membership meeting. Having two speakers. City staff person to explain the Wastewater Program and fees and what is covered. Steve Jorgenson, BMPRD, explain plans and coordination with the city of Bend relating to the urban trail system and parks. Discuss other items of interest and concern.  Will have printed information tables. This time we sent out a half page card notice of this meeting. This is a cost saving effort.
5. Minutes of monthly board meetings will be put on our web, first as DRAFT and then as APPROVED after they are approved at the next meeting. Treasurer report, Joe absent. (From bank statement) $2467.95 (?). Mike will submit a receipt for a $35 copy card from Postal Connections.
6. Discuss removal of curb extensions on Poplar just east of Brookswood. Work in progress.
7. Discuss with our webmaster, Kevin, updates, changes, and removal of items from our website. Revisit advertisement rates and locations of such. Get a list of all businesses in SBNA. Get a list of accomplishments of SBNA over time. Robert will take digital photos of subdivisions in our area, send them to Kevin to put on web.
8. Two ladies talked about attending this meeting to discuss dog poop cleanup and hiring weed pullers along Brookswood. They were a no-show.
